Over The Town and The City Festival
Van 30 april tot 2 mei 2026 verspreidt The Town and The City Festival zich over meer dan twaalf venues in het hart van downtown Lowell, Massachusetts. Vernoemd naar de roman van Jack Kerouac, die zelf uit Lowell stamde, brengt dit stadsfestival drie dagen lang live muziek, comedy en cultuur naar cafés, theaters en boekwinkels op loopafstand van elkaar.
Wat maakt dit festival bijzonder?
Nu in zijn zevende editie heeft het festival een uitgesproken karakter: geen groot festivalterrein, maar de stad zélf als podium. Vrijdag speelt John Doe samen met David Lowery in het Merrimack Repertory Theatre, terwijl op zaterdag Tanya Donelly & Chris Brokaw op hetzelfde podium staan. Wie gratis wil genieten, kan terecht bij de Bicentennial Stage op Palmer Street, waar Copilot en Vundabar optreden.
Praktisch & goed om te weten
- Donderdag start om 19:00, vrijdag en zaterdag gaan de deuren open vanaf 14:00
- Geen camping; alles speelt zich af in en rondom downtown Lowell
- Tickets lopen van gratis tot $40; een 3-daagse pass is beschikbaar via Etix
- Day passes ophalen bij het Revolutionary Valley Regional Tourism Office
- Tip: de Bicentennial Stage op zaterdag is gratis en toegankelijk voor alle leeftijden, een mooie manier om het festival te proeven zonder ticket.
